Q.I Planted My Sprouted Lotus Seeds In Dirt, But It Looks Like Mud Now, Did I Make A Mistake?

Should i take them out and put rocks in the dish instead? Nothing on the internet is conclusive from what I’ve read. They sprouted and grew roots in 3-4 days so i took the next step i found on YouTube, but it looks wrong – dirt is floating.

You can place a layer of gravel on top of the dirt to keep it from floating. Here is more:
