Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI planted a Mammoth Elephant ear bulb 3 weeks ago in a pot inside. It didn’t come up. It didn’t have a what they call pointed end…both ends were flat. Will it still grow if it was planted upside down? How long does it take one to come up? Someone told me it takes 3 weeks, but mine still hasn’t come up yet.

The top of the tuber should have a series of rings visible. Small bumps are also generally visible.
The bottom of the tuber is generally more rough looking, with pocks and craters.
These large tubers generally take their time in appearing, it may be 3 to 4 weeks before it wakes up.
Make sure you are watering correctly and that the bulb is in warm and bright location.
