How Should I Water the Watermelons

My grandson just planted the seeds for six plants (we only have a small amount of soil). How can I water them? I only have a regular hose and cannot afford to buy anything else except for maybe one of those hoses that have holes in them.

A soaker hose (with the holes in them) is a great idea. However, you can also use your regular hose and just water deeply (at least 20-30 min.) each week (or more, depending on how warm it is).
