Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comMy tree is being gagged by vines. This tree has been here since at least 1987. Been neglected but usually still produces blooms. I’m cleaning up because I have all this time now and notice it is being gagged. How far back can I trim it? Will it grow back if I just prune all that growth off of there? Please help!

Pruning the vine will likely make it come back much more aggressively. You will need to keep it pruned, constantly, and may need to apply an herbicide. Make sure not to neglect this task until it stops coming back.
As far as the health of the tree goes- it will recover once the vines die out of the tops. Just give it proper care.
