jenell added on May 19, 2014 | Answered

I live in China, Texas next to Beaumont, Texas. The temperature here is 80 to 90 degrees. I wanna plant close to my porch. It gets plenty sunlight until 3pm, then the sun is in the back of house. Don’t know my zone.

It's helpful to know your plant hardiness zone, which is based on the coldest winter temperatures, so you don't waste money and time planting things which won't grow where you are. Here's a map for Texas: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/planting-zones/texas-planting-zones.htm\
Here's a list of plants that should work for you: http://ekps.tamu.edu/
You can find more information by using the resources available at your local Extension Service office. This service is run by the State Dept of Agriculture, and is free to the public. This link will help you locate one: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/extension-search/
