home for indoor plant

I live in a Zone 2 climate and have an indoor plant. I want to find a good home for it. Any suggestions? I love this plant. It responds to my life. It blooms on birthdays, anniversaries, etc. However, my house is small and I can no longer care for it. I need some suggestions as to what to do to remedy this situation.

Can you contact the the local garden club in your area?
Do you have a local Thrift Store that may want the plant?
How about a local nursing home?
