I Live In A Dry Unpredictable (also Very Windy) Climate In Reno Nevada. Is It To Late To Plant Something In A Pot Outside? If Not

what am i able to grow? I already tried lavender a few weeks ago but is dying… I’m sad about my lavender dying and would like something as beautiful and functional to replace it with. Maybe i just don’t have a green thumb…
