Q.I Just Read An Interesting Article That You Put Out About Peony Seed Pod Harvesting. The Author Recommended That These Be Harveste

d in the fall oh, but the article further describes that in nature the seeds are typically dispersed in the late summer. When spec ifically should I start looking for the ready to harvest peony seed pod? We live in Hampton Roads Virginia, with a fairly long growing season. Thanks very much.

I think what we're discussing here is a period of time over which the plant disperses its seeds, which would most likely be late summer through fall. I think if you watch your plants you'll notice them beginning this process in late summer and continuing into the fall. Collect them and dry them whenever they are "dark brown and leathery, and slightly crack open".
