tiny, tiny bugs on my hibiscus indoors for the winter

The bugs leave a sticky substance on the leaves and around the plant. What can I use to get rid of the bugs?

Insect pests that affect hibiscus plants include spider mites, mealybugs, aphids, and whiteflies, all of which secrete what is referred to as “honeydew,” the sticky substance you mention. Pinpointing the exact pest (if they’re really tiny, it could be mites or aphids) will determine its treatment but this can usually be achieved through the use of neem oil.
