Q.moss growing on vegetable garden

I have something that looks like moss that grows on the surface of my vegetable garden. What could cause this? The garden is in the sun most of the day.

The articles below will help you in understanding why moss grows and how to eradicate it. There are four main reasons that moss grows and they are compacted soil, poor drainage (is your soil really wet - moss loves soil that is damp), low PH and lack of sunlight.
