I have some wild ferns on my property, can I cut them back?

When do I cut back wild fern? I understand they will come back stronger in spring.

You can cut back any damaged or brown fronds but you can allow the ferns to die back naturally.

Adding some organic material to the soil and making sure the plants have adequate watering is the best way to promote the ferns growth and natural spreading.
