storing grapevines

I have some grapevines (with roots) that I pulled from the ground while pruning an established vine. Should I put them into the ground now or keep them indoors until spring? If I’m to keep them indoors, how should I store them?

It can be very difficult to reroot and grow Grapevine in this manner unless you dug up large amounts of the root system.
Grapevine do best if moved and transplanted quickly to a new location.

Taking cuttings and starting them from the Grapevine may be a better way to preserve the plants.
If you have hardwood on the Grapevine, I would choose this method to preserve your plants.
