I Have Small White Marks On Base Of Papaya Tree

Question

Looks like circular chewing marks on the bark. I can’t find any information that fits my problem. Please help

That appears to be beaver damage!

These trees are in a pot and the tallest one is 3.5 feet tall. I can guarantee that it isn't a beaver. I live in Miami Florida.
