removing sago palms

I have several 5-6 ft sago palms that I need to remove. How best to accomplish this? I assume I should start by cutting off all the fronds…..how do I take the base out?

Water your Sago 24 hours prior to digging it up. 1 to 2 inches of water from the garden hose. This will soften the soil.
Wear gloves and remove 1 or 2 rows of lower leaves.

Measure about 12 inches in diameter around the trunk of the palm.

With a sharp shovel follow this measurement all the way around the palm, cutting down about 12 inches below the soil, severing the roots.
Continue working with the shovel to loosen and bring the palm free from the soil
Use a garden lopper to cut any larger roots.

Place the Palm on a tarp to slide the palm away from the yard.

You can then clean up the remaining roots left in the planting hole.
