Q.I have red ants climbing my lemon tree.
The reddish ants leaving “spikes” on the leaves. Then leaves become brown and die. My zone 10 lemon tree looks awful.

The ants are probably eating honeydew, which is the residue from another pest.
Treat the plant with Neem Oil; Neem Oil is organic and safe for people and bees.
