Aloe Vera Plants

Aloe Vera

Anonymous added on August 7, 2016 | Answered

I have an aloe vera plant that is developing cuts or slices into the sides of some of the leaves. It looks like they were snipped with clippers. Is this a natural occurring thing or maybe a bug? I didn't see any when I just transplanted. It was in a 3-inch pot, so it's not very old.

Difficult to see the cuts or slices you refer to in this image.
I don't think your plant has any issues other then the fact that it has been colored. This could cause the plant leaves to not be able to breath and the leaves are splitting open because of this.
I've seen some plant displays at stores that are doing this to attract customers, is my assumption.

Here is a link with growing information.
