Q.Yucca Tree Damage
I have a yucca tree that I just noticed my cats have scratched the main trunk very badly. Is there a way I can repair it? I have congestive heart failure and can’t always get to my plants everyday. Well I went to wipe down the leaves and a lot if them were brown and dead, and the cats have scratched the main trunk very badly. Is there any way I can repair the trunk and save the tree?

If the yucca has been girdled (scarred continuously all around the trunk), then there will not be much you can do to save it. But, that being said, I think that the nature of cat scratches would make it difficult for them to girdle it.
Likely the browing you see if just from stress. I would recommend wrapping the trunk with mesh or chicken wire and then spraying the area around the plant and up the trunk of the plant with a citrus scented spray.
