I have a water logged potted Guayasa plant that is suddenly dropping it’s leaves.

I want to dry out it’s roots, and maybe change the pot to get better drainage

But I am looking for advice on how or what to do. I am thinking I need some root fungus added to the water to expand the tiny roots, maybe then they would not get so water logged from a little watering, maybe then they might actually soak up the water with the nutrients. But is that the best way to go? should I water it again with the fungus, or do something to dry it out first?

Mycorrhizal fungus inoculation won’t be enough to improve drainage and reduce standing water. Consider repotting with a better draining soil. You can inoculate the new soil with beneficial soil biology at that time.

Can you recommend a good soil that drains real well? I thought I purchased good drainage soil to start with.
