variegated lilac

I have a variegated lilac tree and one branch has reverted back to normal. How can I correct this? We live in BC Canada. The tree is about eight years old and the “old” colored leaves are right at the top of a branch right at the top of the tree. The same branch below that has variegated leaves. Do I need to do anything?

I appreciate any advice. Thank you

Below is a link that will explain what is happening to your tree. It is stated in one of the articles that “Shoots that have reverted are much more vigorous than the variegated plant and should be pruned out completely or cut back into wood containing variegated foliage.”
