Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI have a rubber tree plant that I noticed the leaves are starting to curl under with no color change and then the whole stem breaks over. After doing some research online, I thought it might have root rot so I pulled it out of its pot and it was not setting in moisture. I water it once a week and only lightly at that but I did notice some white stuff on top of the soil. I decided to transplant into a pot that was 1″ larger but that didn’t seem to help. When I transplanted and watered, I fed it a little with plant food. I got this plant when my handicap 13 year old passed away and really don’t want to lose it…help.

There could be a few issues in play here.
Rubber Trees do not like change. Stresses like being moved or repotting can cause leaf drop.
Insects can also be an issue. Neem Oil is a good, safe treatment and is safe for people and pets. It works as both an insecticide and fungicide.
Don’t over fertilize. They need very little fertilizer and if you repotted with new good quality potting mix the plant has adequate nutrients.
Check the soil. Make sure it is needing water before you water, don’t rely on a scheduled watering.
