Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI just pitted a bunch of cherries and want to store the seeds for later use. I washed them and am now drying them, but I do not want to plant them right away. Maybe not for a couple years. Can I forgo the cold period and just store them in jars until I am ready to actually use them?

If there's any moisture or traces of fruit still on the pits, they will mold over time. Your best bet is to freeze them in the jars or in airtight containers. Here's an article about freezing:
