Q.Pussy Willow on singular trunk has branches falling forward

Anonymous added on July 2, 2015 | Answered

I have a Pussy Willow (4 ft tall) that has one straight trunk with the top cascading towards the ground with no upright branches. It is leaning, as the branches are falling to the front. This is pulling the trunk over with the weight. We have had no catkins on this. We have just moved to this property so we are not aware of the history. Have you any advice on how to maintain this?

It may need to be pruned in order to take the weight off the trunk, as it sounds like it may be too much for the tree to handle at this point. Here is more information: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/shrubs/pussy-willow/how-prune-pussy-willows.htm
