Q.I have a pony palm about 8 ft tall. In moving it, I broke the ‘top tails’ off. Reading your article I believe I can replant the
m per the article. The palm where they broke of, top 4 ft, will it send new sprouts out, or do I need to remove the 4 ft???? What to do w/ the original palm top 4 ft.

You can make an attempt to propagate the top segment. This will usually take with no issue if done correctly. You may cut the long stem off, as they will shoot new side sprouts directly from the "bulb" part.
