Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI have a nine bark shrub. There are several new spouts coming from around the base of the shrub. Will these be the same as the original shrub? They are straight and 6″-3′ tall. I have a nine bark tree also and it does the same thing.

If your growing the Nine Barks as a windbreak, as many people do, you can leave the sucker shoots.
I personally would remove them to keep the shrubs looking neater.
