Q.I have a large fern and the leaves are browning and I’m left with these short, dead sticks.

It’s still green, but where the fern leaves die, they just crumble all over and they leave these sharp, dead sticks all throughout the center mostly. Do I cut these down to the soil? Pulling them out will not work.

I assume this is indoors. Humidity can be an issue for ferns indoors. Misting can help and even placing a room humidifier near the plant will provide the moisture it needs.

You can clean all the dead leaves and stems from the plant.
