empt kill it. Can I start in the fall or do I need to wait untilspring Should I trim the leaves before covering if I can start now? I do not want to use chemicals, I am trying to go natural and switch to native plants.

Is it in a place that you can mow it or weed it to get rid of a lot of the vegetation? Then you can cover the area with clear plastic weighted down with bricks along the edges. If you still have four to six weeks of warm weather go ahead and do it now. It is best to solarize during the hottest part of the year, if possible. Here is more:
