I have a hosta 2 years old, it has a tall lavender blooms with leaves on the bottom. What do I do with this? Can I cut it and replant and when?

Hosts are he hardiest plants in the garden! I live near Boston, and after the first frost the leaves die, then we rake to the bare ground. Best time to split and spread through out the yard is in spring, when they are about 4-6" tall. They come up fasssst! So don't delay. I have been splitting my hosta and spreading around my property for 10 years! Have given more away than I can remember.
I have found that Hosta grows in any condition: full sun, half sun, shade, etc. lots of water, no water, they still grow!
Hope this helps
