Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI purchased a Easter Red Bud last year in late July. It was already stressed from lack of shade at the retailer. In addition I was given incorrect information on where to plant it. Due to that I planted it in an area with too much sun and heat. Due to this the main tree has died. However, as of a few weeks ago I started to get small sprouts from the root base. (I have not made any attempt yet to remove the old tree from it’s current spot.) If I move the root system and the new sprouts (about a foot tall – seem to be about 3 or 4 of them) to a better spot is there still hope that I can get a new tree, or possibly a bush style plant to grow? I have a spot in the back yard with more afternoon shade, but is fairly close to a grove of Pine trees. I am not sure if the Pine trees would create an issue and if moving it would work out or not. Any insight would be appreciated.

It’s possible that you have a grafted tree, look for a graft spot on the truck. It may appear thicker.
If it’s growing from below this graft line; it may not grow back as the same tree you had.
If it is not a grafted tree, just let it grow back. Prune away the dead plant material and wait it out.

Propagating this tree is a challenge.
