Desert rose can be grown from seed; however, the seed needs to be fresh. It does not store well. Here is a step-by-step guide. https://www.wikihow.com/Plant-Desert-Rose-Seeds [1]
Carefully, hold the pod in your closed hand when you remove it.
When I have ripening seed pods that explode to fling seeds afar, I put them in an old envelope. Do not leave them on the counter! You can tie a cloth bag or double layer of cheesecloth around the seed pod instead of wiring it.
