i have a climbing bush, dark green leaves ,thorny and flowers with red flowers. produces pear like pods , any idea what it is

It will be very hard to identify from this description, and without a photo. Can you give a very detailed description? This may help.

You could also take photos, or samples of the plant up to your local extension service, or agricultural group. I am not familiar with the services in your country, so I cannot recommend any off hand.
