Q.boring insect in fig tree

Zone ZONE 7 | ROBIN.ADCOCK added on August 30, 2015 | Answered

I have a boring bug in my fig branches causing sawdust to fall onto leaves. The branches have a hole in the middle and something is eating the wood. What is it and what can I spray to stop this?

It is hard to say what type of tree borer it is without actually seeing it to identify it.
This is a serious condition and it is likely that the tree will be completely girdled and be killed.

Phryneta spinator, stem bore beetle is a likely culprit.
