e but now the leaves are drooping. Will it survive? Would new growth come from the branches/stems or the bottom of the plant? Should I trim the stems back or leave it as it is? Picture below

I would wait to see what recovers. Some of it will turn brown and mushy, and that can be cut off, but whatever recovers will have no need for a trimming! Usual care is the only road to recovery, however. There is nothing special to be done. Here is an article that will help with it's care:
