Rose Of Sharon Plants

Q.I have a 3 year old Rose of Sharon. In the past it budded and flowered regularly. This year for some reason it JUST started show

leaves, no buds yet. (Aug) Just wonder is this normal or will it die in winter? Should I be concerned, as it did wonderful in past.
