Zone Fairfax.VA 22033 | Anonymous added on May 16, 2020 | Answered

These fig trees they don’t produce as they should . This is the fifth year but they grow very little and produce a small amount of fruits. I live in the zone 7 close to Washington D.C. What do I need to do to have a good producing trees. The soil type is clay I used 10-30-10 fertilizer called Bloom Booster. I was advised to use Dr. Earth Natural Wonder Organic fertilizer for fruit trees. Another advice is to use fertilizer 10-10-10 ? what is the correct way to get lots of fruits.

This is likely not due to fertilization but where you are located. MOST figs are not hardy enough to fruit in your area.

A general fruit tree fertilizer should be plenty and unnecessary anyway. Usually overfertilization is one of the most common causes of no fruit production.
