Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI have 20 year old cherry blossom tree (not fruit bearing). I planted it with my children 15 years ago in memory of my husband. To our horror someone has sawn through the tree about 2 feet from the base, and it’s hanging on by a thread. Can I save it?

Since it’s hanging on by a thread I regret to say that it is not salvageable and at this point would represent a safety hazard (it could tip over). You will want to seriously consider cutting it down.
