Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comOne larger than the other, with several females close by. My question refers to the ball of new limbs that sprout from the top. Last year the largest palm developed two heads and developed leaves on both. Now this spring the original has developed 4 new heads and the new growth from last year now has 3 balls. The entire sago now has a total of 7 heads. Do I need to prune any or all of these new growths. Will the weight of the limbs endanger the palm?

The new heads are pups. This article will tell you how to remove them and repot them (bottom of article) or you can simply toss them:
