Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comIt is April 4th in East Lyme Connecticut. The apple tree sapling that I germinated from a seed, was planted in the ground the spring of 2022. It barely survived the summer but had a green leaf in the early fall. It is about 2” tall. I would like to help it survive this growing season of 2023. Any tips to save my tree would be appreciated.

Now that you have gotten through the hard part of getting the seed to germinate, properly, you will want to test the soil in the area. You can do that, yourself, or you can enlist the help of your local extension service.
