Main Stem on Pepper Plant Broke

I have an upside down orange bell plant. I went to relocate it and in the process broke the main stem, just below the first node. I instantly put the top part in a rooting hormone and into peat moss. My question is, will the main plant still grow seeing as the only node has been removed or should I dig it out and replant a new one?

As long as the roots are intact, then the main plant should keep growing just fine, though its growth may be a bit behind.
