Potted tulip plants are forced spring-blooming bulbs to give you an indoor show of color. I would wait until the flowers and the foliage have died back then plant outdoors. Tulips do not come back well after being forced, however, and could take a few years to flower again in your garden. More information on planting flower bulbs after winter forcing can be found here:
