I accidentally cut back all the green on my recently finishing blooming amaryllis.

Thank you. My amaryllis just finished blooming and flowers died. I accidentally cut back all the green to the bulb. I know your supposed to let the green die naturally after you cut the stalk of the bloom. I didn’t! Everything now cut down. Can I now give the bulb a dormant period say in the fridge or will it not have enough energy bc I cut the green leaves? Thank you so much.

This is hard to say. I have seen it go both ways. An accidental mowing can kill them, or some may survive. I would slowly introduce them into dormancy by slowing down watering until they are dry. Then you can remove and begin the storage process, or let them overwinter in container. It is likely that some will survive, but you may lose some as well.
