Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comWhen you plant hyacinth outside in Florida, do you have to dig them up? I live in St Augustine, Florida and we get a winter but it is an average temperature of 40 to 55 degrees in the winter. We get rain as well, sometimes like a monsoon, and I worry that the fact we do not get very cold temperatures they will not like those conditions. Can you tell me how to care for them, as I have purchased quite a few and want them to continue to come back each year with their beautiful smell.
Thank you
Laura
PS – I don’t have any photos of them, as they have died already and just the leaves are left. I trimmed the flower off after it died and cut it back, leaving just the green leaves and they are starting to die now.

You will need to lift the bulbs each year and provide ‘chilling’ to the bulbs to convince them they live somewhere else!
Here is more information for you.
