In spring after the plants come up, will they have to be covered if it gets below freezing?

Most Spring bulb flowers can tolerate brief dips in temperatures.

If the temperatures stay very low for extended periods of time, you can cover the plants with a cloth or burlap. Uncover them as soon as the temps warm.

Even if the flowers and leaves suffer some damage, they can usually recover with not long term damage.
