Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comWe have a cabin in Western NC. We just came up in December to find hundreds of small holes, averaging an inch to 2 inches in diameter and about 2 inches deep, throughout our backyard. We’ve owned the house 3 years and never seen this. Any ideas what might be causing these?

This is likely caused by a squirrel, skunk, raccoon, or other mammal. Please see these articles to identify the culprit:
