How to trap the Chipmunk from Hell?

I have been trying to live trap a chipmunk all season with no luck whatsoever and believe me, I have tried EVERYTHING: I even tried gluing peanuts to the trip lever for him to yank on but not even that worked. He has destroyed hundred’s of dollars worth of container plants, seedlings, bulbs and such. Please come up with something I haven’t thought of – WAY outside the box!
