How to tell the difference between grass and onions

Question

I been away from my garden for quite awhile. This is my first year doing a veggi garden. I have planted Cebola Texas Grando 502 onions and because my garden wasnt weeded while I was gone I now am unsure what is onion and what is grass. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Onions have a larger, thicker and hollow stem.
