how to take care of an 8 foot poinsettia?

I have a poinsettia that is over 8 feet tall. It has groups of leaves and then a branch and another group of leaves. I have it hooked to my living room drapes, and it keeps growing. How do I keep it from losing its leaves or from stressing out?

It may be prettier trimmed back some, and then pinching tips to make it bushy. It needs specific watering, humidity and temperature to avoid stressing it. Here is more:
