how to take care of an 8 foot poinsettia?

I have a poinsettia that is over 8 feet tall. It has groups of leaves and then a branch and another group of leaves. I have it hooked to my living room drapes, and it keeps growing. How do I keep it from losing its leaves or from stressing out?
