Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI have a beautiful 70 year old fig tree. It’s wonderful shade and a great tree EXCEPT for the twice a year that it bears fruit! It turns into a horrid mess. Any way to stop the fruit on this tree! Thanks 🙂

There is no sure fire way to do this to a fig tree, but you can try giving it extra amounts of nitrogen. The extra nitrogen may cause it to focus more on leaf production and less on fruit production.
You may also want to check around to see if there is a group in your area that collects unwanted fruit for food pantries. These kinds of groups are getting rather popular and if you have one in the area, they would be willing to come pick the fruit before it was able to fall and make a mess.
