Q.how to sex kiwi

Zone 8b-9- Orlando, Fl | brockkl added on September 28, 2015 | Answered

Probably 6-8 years ago we bought those Walmart bare root kiwi pair. It came with both sexes, but one of them died. So now, we need to get another of whichever sex we need. Problem is, we have never seen ONE flower on the vine to determine which we have. I started wondering if maybe it’s missing some nutrient, but the plant is quite vigorous. Is there something I need to do to encourage blooming? Or should I just start over? We are in sandy (Florida) soil. Everything grows.
