Q.How to root cuttings from a tree

Zone 02301 | Anonymous added on March 17, 2017 | Answered

I just came across this website, (which is wonderful) and I did get a detailed answer to my question, only there is one problem: I am not a gardener!

I don’t know if you can help me, but what I am interested in is locating someone, (arborist? horticulturist?) in or near my area (Brockton, MA) to help me with the task of rooting cuttings from a tree. More specifically, I need help with everything from start to finish: obtaining the tree cuttings, growing them, and then help with planting the tree. I want to ensure success with this as the tree that I wish to obtain cuttings from is set to be cut down very soon. This is very distressing in itself and I have been searching online daily for resources without much success. I don’t have any idea on how to go about locating the right professional, as I really don’t know who that would be.

I would greatly appreciate any information that you can provide and certainly any advice that you can offer on how I should proceed in locating the right person for this project.
Thank you!

Sincerely,

Cynthia Tsarhopoulos

We are glad that you found our site informative, we love to help fellow gardeners!

Check with your local Chamber Of Commerce to see if there is a Garden Club in your area. Garden Clubs are a great way to connect with local gardeners.

You local Extension Office may also have local contacts for you. They are also a valuable tool for the homeowner.
